Friends

Once again I find myself having ignored my duties of updating things here at Eligius for a long time. In fact, if you have been keeping up with me and the happenings in my life, April 28th, the date of the last of post is not too terribly far from the time I found out, or at least began to suspect I had MS. In many regards, since that was known, I have kind of avoided posting here. Many times I have thought about, but I was just not sure what to say – especially since I was not sure I was going to continue to doing medieval stuff, giving I am still not sure about my ability to ride horses.

Where to Begin?

Bottom line is I have sucked with the blogging since leaving on my adventures south at the fine SCA event known as Gulf Wars. I had big plans for doing some blogging while down there. Despite some notes that did materialize. I have since planned to kick that off in earnest after my return and yet there have been a multitude of reasons that have delayed that. A brief explanation is in order, probably, or least it is in my mind. First, though, take a look at the revamped theme, which had its own necessities also explained below. Give it a whirl and tell me what you think. As always comments and suggestions are always more than welcome!

New Stuff – JOY!

Had planned things so that I had a few extra dollars this past pay check and finally got a couple of those things ordered that I am so in need of for the upcoming campaign season, which is actually a lot closer to kicking off then I would like to think about. So, several things ordered and I am about like a kid on close to Christmas waiting for those first couple of things to show up. In the meantime, while being just darn giddy, my Mom met me in Lexington yesterday for a quaint surprise. I had mentioned something about maybe looking at getting a machine for my birthday wanted her opinion…

Reenactors Lament

Do not be thinking that in some way I think I am perfect. Far from it in fact and I try to make big improvements in my kit every year, along with a few dozen little changes here and there. I have a list that I am working on for the 2011 campaign season. On the other hand, I did work at a living history type of museum for a few years doing interpretation for that period, I have had my group professionally employed by several faires, festivals, and what have you, some of which were very historically strict (and I cringe when I see pictures from even the last year – I puke a little in my mouth when I see the first years), and of course I do a lot of that kind of stuff even today.

Medieval & Other Notes

Yeah, I am aware of how long it has been since I posted here. I got a plan to remedy that and you can find some additional information about that below. In the meantime, to get things rolling again I thought it would be prudent to make a more generic post about a few little tidbits that I have floating around for some potential good blog subjects for the last several weeks. Let me know if you like this kind of format or not, though I will admit that I will probably not use it much in the future. It would still be good to get some feedback on things. Okay, without further getting off topic, my notes…
